Located at the eastern gateway to the Blue Mountains, Blaxland is a thriving hub for creative professionals, small studios and forward-thinking businesses. With strong transport links, an entrepreneurial spirit and easy access to both Sydney and the mountains, Blaxland has become a strategic base for a new wave of MTNS MADE creatives.

The town is home to a growing community of graphic designers, web developers, digital marketers, musicians, videographers and content creators. Many of these professionals run client-facing studios, offering services to both local and national brands from a mountain base.

Blaxland’s commercial edge makes it ideal for freelancers, consultants and small agencies working across design, communications, branding, and content strategy. The creative energy here is practical and ambitious, with many MTNS MADE members collaborating across sectors or bringing design thinking into business, education and community spaces.

It’s also a family-friendly town, with great schools and co-working potential — attracting professionals looking to blend creative careers with lifestyle balance.

Blaxland proves that creative work doesn’t need to be confined to the city. From fast-growing media studios to solo artists building brands with national reach, the lower mountains are alive with momentum.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NGURRA

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region. For Dharug and Gundungurra People, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape – landforms, waters, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, foods, medicines, minerals, stories and special places. It includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings, and people: past, present and future. Blue Mountains City Council pays respect to Elders past and present while recognising the strength, capacity and resilience of past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Blue Mountains region.
