My earliest experiences in audio production stem from a fascination with environmental sound and spaces combined with music, which translated into soundscapes recorded onto magnetic tape that were manipulated via reversal, tape speed fluctuation, phasing and other effects. This interest in textural and spatial effects of sound, particularly manipulating perceptions of time and space in audio, informs much of my creative approach and resulted in the 2015 album Sounds of In-Between, combining field recordings with musical motifs to explore the idea of liminal, between spaces in music and sound. Selections from the album were used as the soundtrack for the independent cinema release The Last Babushka Doll (2018).
