IBM: Better United

IBM: Better United visualises data from cyclists participating in the Tour de Cure. The overall form of the object is derived from coral colonies, with the main piece also designed to evoke a cylcing velodrome. The sections of the main piece visualise relative distances travelled by each of the pelotons over three days. The seaweed forms on the right are made using a cross-section of the elevations of each day's journey, then extruded using forces derived from relative changes in speed across the three days.
