Dawn Chorus

Paintings of magpies, black cockatoos, wattlebirds, bowerbirds, lyrebirds, and some more common yet harder to spot smaller birds like eastern spinebills, white-cheeked honeyeaters, and pardalotes. I have incorporated these with some of my favourite native flowers, the banksia, kangaroo paw, and billy buttons. As a small child, I was fascinated by nature; it was where I felt happy and alive. Discovering the natural world was, and still remains, an endless source of joy for me. Living in the Blue Mountains, we share our beautiful home with so many amazing birds. I love listening to the dawn chorus, as the sounds attune me to the environment and my senses. It is a reminder that the birds are awakening and singing in the day. I love identifying the birds that are in my backyard and on the walking tracks in my local area. Although I am a novice bird nerd, my deep love for birds leads me to paint them and share this love with you.
