waradah Australian centre
Discover The Spirit of Australia
Art Galleries, Education, Performing Arts, Retail
The centre is a combination Art Gallery, education, retail and Performance Attraction. The Art is a showcase of authentic Aboriginal paintings from Central and Western Desert. The large retail store carries a collection of authentic Aboriginal gifts and hand-made artifacts, as well as affordable Australian souvenirs and memorabilia.
From our indigenous heritage, to our present multicultural society, discover the events, characters and the Dreaming Stories that have shaped Australia’s national identity. Live performances run approx 30 mins, 6 times a day in a purpose-built theatre. Performed in full period costume, the performances are accompanied by the latest multimedia software and hardware, which project related images onto 3 screens.
Sharing the theatre is Waradah’s exclusive indigenous movie, Bangarrai. Filmed in the Blue Mountains and produced by Waradah, Bangarrai is a coming of age tale of a young indigenous man completing his cultural teachings at the cusp of white settlers moving into the mountains. Running in tandem with the performances, the movie is approx 17 min and runs 7 times daily.
Further investments in Acoustiguide’s patented translation software, allow international visitors to experience the performances and the movie into 8 programmable languages.
