Consultant / Curator / Broadcaster
Digital, Education, Marketing, Publishing, Services, Sound & Music
Born in Scotland and now resident in Sydney, my career-long passion has been in developing new audiences for the creative industries and cultural sector, as a director, producer and marketer of innovative creative work. I am curious about the intersections of culture, technology and media, and the changing ways in which audiences interact with the arts and creative industries.
My areas of activity are –
CONSULTANCY – I work with creative industries clients in the fields of business strategy and marketing, with a focus on digital engagement and tech. Recent clients include Sydney Opera House, Museum Of Contemporary Art and Art Gallery of New South Wales and Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise, where I led the team that developed the MTNS MADE brand. I am currently engaged in a consultancy role as Head Of Marketing for TEDxSydney and run a sold-out series of Masterclasses for The Guardian.
CURATION – My passion for innovative and experimental music has birthed a number of projects, including the award-winning New Weird Australia initiative, Wood And Wire and New Editions and my current record label, Provenance.
BROADCASTING – I have worked as a broadcaster for the last thirteen years, presenting programs on Sydney’s renowned FBi Radio, ABC Double J and the Community Radio Network, and creating a number of original podcast properties. My current program Out From Under focuses on eclectic and experimental Australian music and airs on the UK station Resonance Extra.
