Rebecca Muscat ~ Fine Artist
Fibre / Textile Artist.
Visual Arts
Faulconbridge
Textile Artist Rebecca Muscat is a lover of tactile textures and intricate details. Her work routinely draws on a limited colour palette of white, cream, rust and black thus allowing the detail of line, form and texture to be highlighted. This ‘pared back’ aesthetic has become her visual language and the perfecting of this language has become Rebecca’s creative pursuit.
Since completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (majoring in Fibres/Textiles) at The University of Newcastle, Rebecca has relocated to the Blue Mountains where she finds herself constantly inspired by the rugged landscape.
As well as crochet, embroidery and weaving, her interests are in paper making and embossing.
As an educator, Rebecca is enthusiastic about the sharing of creative skills and the handing down of traditional handicrafts through generations. The area of creative expression as a form of self therapy is of particular interest also.
Rebecca is a founder of the community craft group, Brown Owls Blue Mountains and also teaches creative workshops locally for both children and adults.
