Leonarda Art Photography
Growing up with mother academic artist, my love of nature and perceptive appreciation of fine detail were instilled in me from the earliest age. My passion for photography developed during my college years when I majored in photography and journalism. My decade-long conversations with Aboriginal Elders of Northern New South Wales contributed to my leaving the academic path behind and concentrating fully on more creative pursuits. Still, I remain one of the few photographic historians specialising in the colonial images of Aboriginal people, and I have published and taught on this topic in Australia and overseas. I am available to give lectures on this and related topics.
These days my photographic practice revolves around my daily meditation and is, indeed, my meditation practice. The ability to stop and appreciate raindrops, flowers, tree bark, wildlife, and the breath-taking views we have here in the Blue Mountains has been lost to many in this modern world. My moments of silence and sojourn with nature readily translate into my images which I am happy to share at my exhibitions, art markets and online.
In addition to Australian imagery, I also do abstracts, architecture, and have a large selection of Mediterranean motifs, especially landscapes and culturescapes from Croatia. I continuously expand my photographic portfolio. Please feel free to contact me for commissions at: firstname.lastname@example.org
